Our Prayer for Christ Church

Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that your people, illumined by your Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ’s glory, that he may be known, worshiped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

- Collect from The Second Sunday of Epiphany

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
— Colossians 1:28

Our distinctives

  • Word and Sacrament are at the core of everything we do. God’s Word is the final authority in our lives, and we seek to submit to it in all we do. As we look to the Bible, we find ourselves caught up in God’s great love story with all of creation. It is by being saturated in Scripture that we find our identity in Christ and our place in the world. Every week we hear the Word of God proclaimed and we receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion. These are the two main support beams of the service. Through them we encounter the good news of God's grace and are directed towards a faithful and loving response.

  • Liturgy is one of the first things you will notice about Christ Church. The word “liturgy” means, the work of the people. It is the structure of our Sunday Services. It reorients our lives and our hearts around the great Gospel story of God’s abundant blessing, our treacherous rebellion, and God’s relentless pursuit of us. This expression of worship has formed countless faithful disciples of Jesus for centuries.

  • Global - The Anglican Communion is a worldwide church with around 85 million people. Though our partnership in the gospel circles the globe, we have a common heritage that traces itself back to the Reformation in England.

  • Historical - We are grateful for the history and tradition of the church. We look to the wisdom of the past as we seek to serve God in the present. We affirm and are thankful for the historic creeds that set boundaries for our belief. And we affirm the particular Anglican distinctives found in the 39 Articles of Religion.
